Module 1: The Strange Case Of The Man Who Did 500 Push-Ups A Day (Because He Wanted To Bang His Secretary
Hi. Let's get started.
First, I've got a bonus report for you. It's called "The Demigod Decision" and some people might think this report qualifies me for a stay at a psych ward.
But I don't care.
Heck, the entire reason I've created this private members-only group was so that I could share stuff like this with like-minded individuals.
So here's the report.
I hope you enjoy it: The Demigod Decision.
There's a reason I'm sharing this report with you this week.
It's because this report details what can happen when you make a "mental shift." Every physical transformation begins with a mental transformation.
And this week, I've got an interview with a man who can testify to that fact. To protect his identify, I'm not revealing his name. But once you hear his honest and raw reason for getting into shape, you'll see why it was crucial to protect his identify. (So we'll call him Mr. X.)
This gentleman contacted me because he made an impressive transformation and he wanted to thank me for the guidance I'd given him. But when I read his story, I knew it was something I wanted to share with my Insider Club readers, so I arranged for an interview to get the full story.
Please keep in mind, this person lives in Europe so English is not his first language.
Matt Marshall: "Thanks for taking the time to do this. Can you tell us your basic information BEFORE the challenge?"
Mr. X: "Sure. I'm a father, 5'10 height and my weight before the challenge was 190 pounds. My waist size was 38.6 inches, and my calculated body fat % was 24.4%.
MM: What made you decide to embark on such an extreme challenge?
Mr. X: Before the birth of my first son, 2 years ago I was around 155 pounds and waist size of 32.3 inches. I was in my best shape, but the lack of sleep (my boys wake up at least 3 times a night), stress at work, stress in family, lack of exercise etc.. I gained 35 pounds. These are the prior events. In April of this year I had an exhibition abroad and I had to wear some of my old suits, bought when I was in better shape. The suit was tight and I feel bad, because I wasn't able to close the jacket. Moreover the people in my company are average fit, so no one was with big belly fat. I felt very bad and I decided to took action. Also, there was another reason why I felt motivated. (Revealed in part 2 of this interview.) In the past, I've been about 155lbs with 2 top visible abs, and I remember fondly my physique from that time so I wanted to get back to that.
MM: What were the details of your challenge program?
Mr. X: I'm a sales manager, and I travel around the world. So my schedule is always changing and I'm always in hotel rooms. So I essentially created my own mini-routine that worked with my schedule. I read your article about Hershel Walker (note from Matt: Hershel Walker is a retired football player turned mixed-martial arts athlete. He's in his 50's but in better shape than most 18 year olds. He's famous for doing hundreds of push-ups every single day and eating only 1 meal per day.) Here is what I came up with: Push-Ups: 500 total push-ups, in sets of 50 throughout the day. Running In Place Tabata Sprints: Done in the morning, I would run-in place for 20 seconds, then rest 10 seconds. I would repeated this 8x for a total of 4 minutes. This was only done in the morning. Diet: I didn't count calories or macros or anything but I made sure to eat only 1 meal per day just like Herschel. I followed this routine six days per week, with 1 rest day.
Part 2: Warning: This portion of the interview contains RAW honesty.
MM: In addition to the other reasons you gave, was there any other motivation for attempting such an extreme challenge?
Mr. X: Yes, to be honest there was an underlying motivation. There a lot of young, beautiful women that work at my company. My own personal assistant in particular is gorgeous and I decided right then and there that I wanted to f*ck her. Only trouble was, I didn't think she found me attractive because of my belly and current physique. So my motivation was to get back in shape in order to f*ck my assistant.
MM: What were the results of your challenge?
Mr. X: In 60 days -- doing nothing but daily push-ups and a short Tabata running in place sprint and eating 1 meal per day, I lost 25 pounds. I dropped 5 inches off my waist. I feel stronger and in good shape.
MM: Well, those results are incredible, obviously. But the real question I think everybody will want to know is... did you bang your assistant?
Mr. X: Ha, no. I did not. In truth, I no longer even want to. The idea was essentially just a fantasy, but I was able to use that fantasy to propel myself to get in shape so I think it was useful.
-- end--
Ok, really interesting stuff in that interview. Sure, it was a little bit risque but that's part of the reason why I created this group. I want to touch on two key points:
A) Never underestimate how powerful of a motivator sex can be. We're primal creatures with primal urges. Harness the power of those primal urges and use that to fuel your motivation. I've known quite a few men (and women) who radically transformed their physique simply because they thought it might get them laid.
B) Daily "movement" might just be one of the biggest secrets to getting in shape quickly.
If you exercise 6 days a week for an hour per session, that's great.
But if you're like most office workers, you're probably sitting, sleeping or spending time practically motionless for the remaining 162 hours a week.
By setting some kind of "motion-based goal" you can offset the vast amount of sitting we do in today's society and you'll see impressive results. It doesn't have to be 500 push-ups a day. Pick any exercise, pick any target and strive to get it done. The key is NOT to try and bang out all your reps at once but rather to spread them out during the day.
To that end, I'm issuing you a challenge for the week:
Let's all copy Mr. X's push-up strategy for the next 6 days and see what happens. If you're in decent shape, shoot for 500 push-ups per day for the next 6 days. If you're out of shape and know that 500 is too lofty of a goal, shoot for 100 per day.
Drop me a line after 6 days of high volume push-ups and let me know your results. I'm guessing you'll see bigger, more muscular arms and a tighter waist line too. Just don't blame me if your secretary starts to get a little bit flirty. 😉
